Loretta Pickford, LPC, NCC
Loretta Pickford, LPC, NCC is a National Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a graduate certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy. She is passionate about supporting individuals in their life and considers it is an honor to bear witness to the healing journey of her clients.
In addition to her education and experience as a therapist, Loretta has over 10 years’ experience as a professional life coach and spiritual counselor. During this time she coached individuals on maintaining life balance and a deep sense of fulfillment as they experienced life transitions, worked toward significant goals or managed a small business. She deeply enjoys developing and leading personal development and wellness programs. Loretta’s first career included 20 years in the information technology industry providing training, consulting, project management and business process consulting services.
Loretta worked at CooperRiis Healing Community during her practicum and internship. CooperRiis is a residential, farm-based healing community that serves individuals with a mental health challenge, emotional distress, and substance misuse issues. During this time, she provided individual counseling using a blend of person-centered, strengths-based and expressive arts therapy. She designed and facilitated weekly expressive arts groups to help individuals develop tools for mental health recovery and gain insight on goals, feelings, and challenges.
